Job Vacancy: Legal Officer Scotland

We are recruiting a legal officer in Scotland to work within our award winning legal service. You will conduct strategically important employment litigation; give concise employment law advice; deal sympathetically with members; prepare employment law briefings; speak effectively on complex employment law issues.
SALARY £44,515
HOURS: 35 hours per week
CONTRACT: Full time, permanent

Within our award winning legal service you will conduct strategically important employment litigation on the Union’s behalf as well as giving both concise written and verbal employment law advice.  As well as these skills, you’ll have the ability to deal sympathetically with members who may sometimes be distressed, as well as preparing written briefs on issues of employment law.  You’ll also need the confidence to speak effectively on complex employment law issues, both in public and with the rest of your team.
An enthusiastic and committed litigator with experience in employment law, you’ll need an aptitude for litigation.  Naturally, confidentiality is essential, together with the ability to work within budgets and organise caseloads efficiently.
